Why? Because of the energy between the audience and myself. If I am lucky enough to have other musicians playing with me, there is that energy between us and the exchange of musical notes and ideas that fly by in each moment. To experience the ebb and flow and see other’s reactions right in front of you to a song that you are playing. To know that what you are doing right then is affecting people’s mood and possibly their life. Music is transformational and therapeutic. It has been that way for me my entire life. To get “goose pimples” from a passage of music…very cool stuff!
